The CATALYST platform transformed the experience of mountain, trail and crossover riders alike in 2024. Now with the 858 engine, you can push the limits even further with bigger power in the industry's easiest to ride package. Compared to Arctic Cat's 794cc engine, the 858 provides 11% more power and torque - and in a package that's 4% lighter. New for 2026, models like the EXT Special and M 858 HCX and HCR continue to build on the lineup of machines that debuted to rave reviews in 2025. You know we can't leave well enough alone though- we will continue the development and expansion of our lineup of performance parts and accessories for these new models with the same quality, durability, and of course the Straight-Up USA Horsepower that has made us known as the Worldwide Leader in Arctic Cat Performance!
No need to call for product updates- just keep an eye on the website and our social media channels for announcements on new products. When they are released and available for purchase, you'll see them here first!
TECH NOTE: Power Valve cables- we have seen a large number of sleds that the power valves are not set properly from the factory or they have moved, this dramatically effects the overall performance of you machine. Using AC tool # 836-00005 you need to confirm these are set right and if you have issues check them again. In our opinion, this is needed on every single 858 out there even in bone stock form. There is also a Technical Advisory regarding the Servomotor Bracket Alignment issued 12/5/25- your dealer may have already contacted you about this done this as part of the pre-delivery inspection, but they can help you with these adjustments if you are not comfortable doing them yourself. You can purchase the Adjustment Tool Kit here- https://speedwerx.com/apv-adjustment-tool-kit-858-c-tec2-models.html

Arctic Cat 858 Dyno Test Article from SnowTech Magazine
SPEEDWERX 858 ARCTIC CAT CATLYST POWER UP
It is an understatement to say the entire industry was beyond excited to see the new 858 engine platform from Arctic Cat. We got on the dyno as soon as we could last fall and here is what we know as of today.
We have over 350 dyno runs on our Superflow 901 engine dyno, and over 150 more runs on our track dyno / simulator. Everything we are talking about on this article is 100% 91 premium pump gas / non -ethanol from Kwik-Trip.
We focused on intake, cylinder heads, y-pipe, single pipe, mufflers, and ecu programing.
Our target water temp was 80-90 degrees and we didn’t start any runs until the pipe was around 850 degrees F. We use the AIM and EZ Lynk data loggers to monitor all of the stock Ecu channels and knock sensors to verify everything is safe and in a good working order.
Bone stock with the stock hood and intake 100% in place we are seeing 148.4 hp at 8200 rpm on our engine dyno and 148.8 hp at 8150 our track dyno / simulator.
Run# 262 Stock baseline.

Intake:
We had a good suspicion there would be a lot to be gained in the intake. The first thing we did was remove the hood, then the seal between the hood and air box, and then the air box. This kind of told us what was there to be gained. We also put a few of the other older 800 intake plenums on it to see what it liked or didn’t like. With all of these parts removed we saw there was about a 5 hp gain over stock available. We went to work and we were able to get the stock hood and air box to make the same power as we did with everything removed. Our high flow intake kit consists of 3 frogzskin vents that go on the front / lower half of the airbox and a billet adapter with seal that goes between the hood and the stock airbox. This set up does require you to remove material from the inlet flange of the air box and to drill 3 holes for the frogzskin.

Heads:
We ran stock, stock with tighter squish, stock with different squish to pocket blend radius, different squish band widths, different squish thicknesses. All in all we ran over 18 different head spec configurations to come up with what we have now. The stock head is around 12.75:1 compression ratio. We are now offering heads in the 12.75 / 13.25 / 13.75 / 14.25 and 14.75 ratios for different elevations and applications. Our heads are a lot different from the stock head design. We have found that the 12.75 and 13.25 domes will work for everyday pump gas trail riding applications, if racing 500’ drags you can go even higher but as you do things get riskier too. The 12.75 heads add 5 hp at sea level on premium pump gas. Riders riding at higher elevations like 6000’ + can run our 14.25 heads and see an 8 hp gain over stock.
Speedwerx, Inc. | Stealth Head Mod // 2025-2026 Arctic Cat ZR / RIOT / M 858 C-TEC2 Catalyst
Exhaust / Mufflers:
We have 3 muffler options. Our L2 light and loud race series in stainless steel – 14.1 lbs and Titanium -16.35 lbs and our Standard trail muffler -9.15 lbs. Both are guaranteed not to loose or hurt performance over stock. We verify this with flow testing, verifying exhaust pressure in the field and dyno testing.
Speedwerx Pipe and Y-pipe:
We tested 9 different pipe and y-pipe configurations. Pipes that ran at lower rpm, higher rpm, different stinger sizes both length and diameter. Y-pipes with bigger throats, smaller throats and everything in between. The set up we liked the best added power everywhere as you can see on the dyno chart. Its an easy 8 hp gain or more from 6000 rpm up. Early on in our testing we thought we would be able to run this package on the stock ECU program but once we got it in the field we learned that was not an option. This dyno data is with early rough in fuel programming we had to finalize the programing in the field and we have not been back on the dyno since to verify what the #’s are but if anything we expect them to be even better. We have 2 versions of Single pipe 0-5000’ and 5000’ +, we have been doing this now for about 15 years with great results. The 5000’ pipe is tighter for the thinner air at higher elevation.
Speedwerx Stage 2 package: + 18hp at low elevation / +21 at higher elevations.

Stock vs. Speedwerx Stage 2 Kit

Track Dyno / Simulator Stock 74.4 Hp vs. Speedwerx Stage 2 kit 84.4 Hp.
ECU flashing:
This summer we just released a 500’ drag race ecu flash that adds 10 hp over stock. This flash if designed to run on ISR legal sleds with stock motor, head, and exhaust.
Turbo Kit:
We released this package for the mountain sleds late last winter with great results and success. We have a trail package ready to start field testing once the lakes freeze up and the trails are ready. This package is producing 220+ hp on 91 premium non-oxy fuel from Kwik-trip.
Stage 2 84.4 hp vs. Turbo kit 113.4 hp.

We would like to remind everyone that it is not good practice to compare dynos from different facilities as they are all different. We have been using the same dyno here for the past 30 years but just this past summer started a dyno facility renovation that will be up and running later this fall.
We highly recommend our Exterminator Kits to get a complete bolt-on performance package developed on our dyno and thoroughly field tested to meet our strict performance standards. The Stage 2 Exterminator Kits are the ultimate choice for those wanting maximum power and performance in a naturally aspirated, stock displacement bolt-on package with pull and go reliability on pump gas. The Stage 2 consists of our Fat Daddy Pipe & Y-Pipe, Stealth Head Kit, ECU Flash, Hypershift Clutch Kit, and High Flow Intake.
The Fat Daddy Pipe & Y-Pipe is the key to making big power, but that's just one part of the performance equation. Our ECU Flashes that are developed in-house change the fuel and timing parameters to ensure you’re getting maximum power and excellent throttle response with pull and go reliability on pump gas. Our Hypershift Clutch Kits keep the revs in the sweet spot to get all that added power to the ground when pipe temps and RPM’s climb on a long pull across the lake or up the mountain. The Stealth Head Mod has our interchangable billet domes with a special chamber and cooling design to reduce the chances of triggering the knock sensor to keep you at peak power all the time, and it also enables those riding at higher elevations to safely bump up the compression on premium pump fuel as well. The High Flow Intake opens up the restrictive stock intake plenum to round out the package. You can use all of this in conjunction with your stock muffler for quiet power, or add our standard Lightweight Muffler that's lighter than stock for a liitle better sound at a level reasonably low for everyday trail riding, or the L2 Series Light n' Loud Muffler for the lightest weight with an aggressive race sound.
Dyno testing on the 858 has shown a 18hp gain with our Pipe, Y-Pipe, Stealth Head, and Air Intake! We are offering our Exterminator Kits for a complete package that include these parts plus an ECU Tune and Hypershift Clutch Kit for maximum power and performance in a bolt-on kit.
Stage 2 Exterminator Kit Includes:
- Speedwerx Fat Daddy Pipe & Y-Pipe
- Speedwerx Stealth Head Mod
- Speedwerx ECU Reflash
- Speedwerx Hypershift Clutch Kit
- Speedwerx High Flow Intake
Optional:
- Speedwerx Standard Lightweight or L2 Series Muffler
- EZ LYNK Device + Cables
- Speedwerx Panel Vent Kits
Our Turbo Kit comes complete and ready to install without any major chassis modifications. Comes with instructions and step by step video instructions will be available on our website and YouTube page as well. Kit utilizes stock coolant and oil lines to feed turbo. Fueling is controlled from a re-flashed ECU and standalone G3 controller box that controls the secondary fuel injectors. As of now we are the only aftermarket company running 4 injectors, but both Polaris and Ski-doo run them on their turbo sleds direct from the factory. This provides better throttle response, better acceleration, and better power. Our aluminum charge box comes pre-assembled with a high flow secondary air inlet valve to for improved throttle response and deep snow drivability. We also send a hood upgrade with the kit to remove most of the internal stock hood intake parts. Last but not least, we include our complete clutch kit with our adjustable weights pre-set to our baseline specs.
This kit is designed to run on non-oxy 91 octane premium pump gas at all elevations and produces 215+ hp on pump gas at 8300-8500 rpm. The wastegate, secondary injectors, and our programming makes this fully altitude compensating from sea level to 8000'+.
UPDATE 1/21/26: Fuel requirements- 6000’+ 94-95 Octane required. We are running about 2 gallons of 110 leaded or 2-3 gallons of 100LL per tank. 2500-6000’ 98 octane required. 3.5 gallons110 leaded. Or 6.5 gallons on 100 LL Stock tank is about 9.5 gallons. We are working on straight pump gas solution a this time. We take this matter very seriously and we will have an update as soon as possible but there is lots of calibration and verification still required before this is complete. At this time, turbo kits may only be purchased if installed by Speedwerx at our facility in Forest Lake MN or Wild West Customs (Jason Nethercott) Victor, ID 208-881-7364.

Speedwerx Lightweight Mufflers
The 858 mufflers look similar to the 600 version but they are not the same. All come standard with our anti-bog deep snow technology, so when you are in deep snow and the exhaust caps off or plugs up there is an outlet or release point for the exhaust to exit so the sled does not bog or hesitate. This muffler uses all of the stock mounting points and hardware. It comes with the Speedwerx performance guarantee to assure you it will not hurt the performance of your machine. Our extensive testing process and years of experience allow us to offer this performance guarantee. We started testing these mufflers in March of 2024 when the sleds were first released. We have tried and tested several different versions and variations to ensue we have the best muffler options on the market.
Standard Lightweight Mufflers are made out of Mild Steel and Bright Silver Ceramic Coated for heat retention and appearance reasons. Offers a stock like sound with a deeper tone. This is our quiet trail can.
L2 Competition Series Mufflers are made out of Stainless Steel or Titanium for the best appearance and longest lasting finish available. This is our light and loud version if you do not want a loud muffler do not get this version.

The chamber design is completely different from stock- we switch back to a true conventional dome shape chamber, and change the width and depth of the squish band. The results are 5 HP gain on premium pump gas at sea level with our 12.75:1 domes and 8+ HP at higher elevations with increased compression ratios. Cylinder to Head O-Rings sold separately- see related products below.
Preliminary testing has shown a 18hp gain with our Pipe, Y-Pipe, Stealth Head, and Air Intake with at high elevation! We will be offering our Exterminator Kits for a complete package that include these parts plus an ECU Tune and Hypershift Clutch Kit for maximum power and performance in a bolt-on kit. Update 2/28: an ECU Tune is required with the Pipe/Head/Intake combo.
Available Compression Ratios - Recommended Elevation Usage with Non-Oxygenated 91+ Octane Premium Pump Gas:
12.75:1 - 0-3000’
13.25:1 - 3000’+
13.75:1 - 4500’+
14.25:1 - 6000’+
14.75:1 - 9000’+
If you wish to use pump gas at varying elevations, order for the lowest elevation you regularily ride at. Higher compression heads can be used at lower elevations with high octane race fuel or a race/pump blend, however we do not have specific fuel recommendations for these cases.
Speedwerx High Flow Intake Kit
Our High Flow Intake Kit is key to unlocking maximum power and performance on the 858- we are seeing a 5hp gain by opening up the restrictive stock plenum! Includes billet aluminum adapter with rubber seal, three Frogzskin vents, and installation instructions.

For 2019 and newer models, we offer 4th Wheel Kits to replace the new style 7.12" and 8" wheels. With the Speedwerx 4th Wheel Kit installed, you will have a more stable ride and better traction under acceleration. These kits replaces the 3 cheap stock molded plastic wheels with 4 high quality PPD rubber coated plastic wheels- the same type used in performance applications for many years. They run much truer and the rubber coating on wheel bends and conforms to studded tracks. Each kit comes with 3 - 6061 CNC machined aluminum spacers, 2 - 6061 CNC machined billet washers and 4 - high performance wheels.
Speedwerx Billet Tensioner Block Kit

A great companion item to our Wheel Kits! This tensioner block kit replaces the stock cast block and 8mm bolt with a 6061 billet aluminum block and 3/8” bolt to improve durability for cross-country racing or aggressive trail and mountain riding. Fits most 2012-2026 Procross, ProClimb, Ascender twin rail, Blast, and Catalyst models including 2018+ ZR 6000 R XC race sleds. Does not fit Alpha One models.
These vent kits allow cool air in and hot air to escape the engine compartment- this helps to keep the clutches and belt cooler, and the intake temps lower. They are made from laser cut aluminum for durability and look good with a Black Anodized frame backed with stainless steel mesh to keep the snow out. Kit comes complete with rivets and installation instructions. We offer three different kits for the Catalyst models- ACCATVK-1 Front Bellypan, ACCATVK-2 Top of Hood, and ACCATVK-3 Side Panels.
Speedwerx Lightweight Secondary Spring Cups and R2 Rollers
Our Lightweight Spring Cups are available for the ADAPT secondary clutches. They are CNC machined from billet aluminum and save .85lbs. Also available is a 3 roller version for the ADAPT- the additional roller reduces flex and reduces drag compared to the 2 roller setup. We have seen improved backshifting and more consistent operating rpms with this part over the 2 roller part. Requires a custom cut 3 roller helix- see below.
The Lightweight Spring Cups pair perfectly with the Speedwerx R2 Series Bearing Grade Racing Rollers. These rollers are made from a very tough and durable bearing grade plastic. They are CNC machined for improved quality and for a good precision fit, where most stock ones are molded. They are built to withstand the toughest conditions. Our team has been using them in all types of racing and trail riding with great results. Both the 2 and 3 roller versions are available with our R2 Rollers, Thust Washers, and E-Clips to make a complete drop-in assembly.
Speedwerx Billet Aluminum ADAPT Primary Clutch Cover
These covers are not just for looks! They do look sweet but we built them with a purpose on top of that. These covers are stronger than stock and have features that help reduce flexing and fatigue over time. Machined from 6061 billet aluminum and anodized for a great looking finish.

Speedwerx ADAPT Clutch H5 Alloy Primary Springs
and H5 Alloy Secondary Springs
For many years, Speedwerx had worked very hard to set the bar in performance clutch kits utilizing titanium springs. The springs and clutch kits worked perfectly, but the prices were getting higher due to the rising cost of titanium. After two years of rigorous testing, we introduced the H5 Alloy springs in 2008. The H5 Alloy springs have a 30,000 to 40,000 psi higher tensile strength compared to standard chrome silicon wire springs and they won't lose rate over time, so you can get the durability and consistent performance of a titanium spring at a fraction of the cost- they even have a 5 Year Guarantee against breakage. The H5 Alloy springs have set the new standard in performance for trail, mountain, and racing applications!

Speedwerx Roller Bushing Kit for ADAPT Primary Clutch

We have seen lots of premature roller bushing failures. To address those issues, we have designed replacement roller bushings that are made from Torlon and are much more durable than the OEM bushing material. Better yet, they are a less expensive alternative to buying new OEM rollers 0746-932 at $32.95 each. They fit all Arctic Cat Snow and Dirt applications with the ADAPT primary clutch. For your convenience, we have made a kit that includes the three replacement bushings and tools to assist in the removal and installation. Bushings are also sold separately in Sets of 3- see product page for more info.
Speedwerx Lightweight TEAM BOSS / ADAPT Helixes
Our TEAM BOSS / ADAPT Helixes are machined in-house- we shave off excess material to save .10lbs over the stock helixes without compromising strength or durability. These helixes are available in both Electronic Reverse (2-Stroke) and Standard (4-Stroke) designs.
Custom Cut 3 roller versions now available! The additional roller reduces flex and reduces drag compared to the 2 roller setup. We have seen improved backshifting and more consistent operating rpms with this part over the 2 roller part. Requires ADAPT 3 Roller Spring Cup assembly- see above.
We offer three types of cuts on these helixes-
Straight Cut- these helixes maintain the same angle for the entire length of the ramp.
Compound Cut- these helixes are progressive on the first section of the ramp and have a straight angle on the end of the ramp. In each part number (ex. 59-43.36), the final number (.36) indicates the length of the first part of the ramp where it progresses from the first angle (59°) to the second angle (43°).
Progressive Cut- these helixes progressively change from the starting angle to the ending angle down the whole ramp.
The advantage to the compound radius is that it will typically back shift quicker for snow cross or tight twisty trail riding. The starting angle is always steeper at first for quicker acceleration, then progressively changes to the lesser angle so that the clutches don’t over shift and bog down the motor so you retain excellent top speed.
Custom angles are also available for $199.95 - please call us at 651.982.6020 (leadtime varies).
Speedwerx Primary Clutch Puller for TEAM or ADAPT Primary Clutch
Machined from Hardened Alloy Steel, this puller is tough and rugged. Our puller has the same T60 Torx head as the clutch bolt so you do not have to change sockets when removing and reinstalling the clutch. Replaces AC pn 0744-080 metric puller. Fits 2010 and newer 2-Stroke models with Arctic, TEAM, or ADAPT clutches, plus select 4-stroke and UTV applications- see product page for more info.
